Machine construction labelling & machine identification in-house

Labels for Mechanical Engineering and Machine Identification in-house

Labelling plays a crucial role in mechanical engineering. Not only do labels contribute to safety, identification and traceability, they are also often required by law. By producing labels in-house, you gain control over every step in the process, allowing you to work flexibly and cost-efficiently. Our label solutions for machine building are designed to meet the strict requirements of the industry and support you in applications such as rating plates, identification plates, CE marking and warning stickers.

Labels for machine construction & machine identification

Machines require clear and durable labelling, not only during the construction process, but also throughout their entire service life. Below, we describe a number of important applications:

Rating plates

Rating plates are indispensable for identifying machines and components, providing important information such as brand, model, serial number and technical specifications. Our rating plates are made from durable materials that are resistant to heat, chemical exposure and wear, and remain legible for a long time, even under harsh industrial conditions.

Identification plates (for cooling systems)

Identification plates are essential for identifying installations such as cooling systems and contain crucial information. By printing identification plates in-house, you have complete control over quality and can quickly respond to customer-specific requirements and regulations. Print from your existing software or design your own unique identification plates – we will help you make the right choice.

CE-marker Stickers

Machines manufactured and sold in Europe must have a CE marking. Our CE labels comply with European regulations and ensure that your products meet the applicable requirements. Thanks to our printers and user-friendly label software, you can easily print these stickers in-house, allowing you to respond immediately to changing regulations.

UL-certified Machine Labels

When exporting to the United States and Canada, UL certification is often mandatory for machines. Our UL-approved label materials meet the strict requirements of Underwriters Laboratories and can withstand the harsh conditions in various industries. By producing UL-certified labels in-house, you retain complete control over the documentation and certification of your machines.

In addition to UL pictograms, our label software includes thousands of industrial symbols that allow you to create professional labels in no time.

Warning stickers and safety labels

Safety is the number one priority in machine construction, and clear safety labels are essential. With our label solutions, you can easily produce safety and warning stickers that can withstand intensive use, UV radiation, chemicals and other challenging conditions.

Cable marking

Machines contain complex cable systems that must be clearly identified. Our flexible and durable cable markings ensure efficient identification and tracing of cabling, which is essential for installation and maintenance. Use our systems to easily print heat-shrink tubes, wire-wraps (wrap-around labels), cable flags and more!

Regulations concerning machine construction and machine identification

Regulations concerning machine construction and machine identification

Every label applied to machinery must comply with strict international or regional standards. With the right materials and processes, you can meet these requirements and use your machinery safely and compliantly worldwide.

CE-marking (Europe)

The Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) sets requirements for the safety and health of machinery sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). Labels must contain information such as CE marking, manufacturer details, serial number, and technical specifications.

The European Machinery Regulation was published on 29 June 2023, will be fully applicable from 20 January 2027, and will replace the current Machinery Directive (2006).

ISO standards

ISO 3864-2 focuses on the design principles of safety labels, such as colour use and contrast, to clearly communicate risks.

ISO 7010 standardises pictograms so that safety information is internationally recognisable.

ISO 17398 specifies the durability requirements of labels, such as resistance to wear, chemicals and weather influences, to ensure long-term legibility.

UL certification (USA and Canada)

Machines and their components must comply with the UL-standaarden for export to North America. Labels must be heat and chemical resistant and feature UL-certified label material and adhesive.

ATEX (Explosion Hazard Zones in Europe)

Machines used in potentially explosive atmospheres must comply with the ATEX-richtlijn (2014/34/EU). Labels must clearly display explosion protection information and be resistant to harsh conditions.
