Printhead cleaning #
Follow the steps below to clean the printhead of the SMS-R1:
- Turn the printer ON.
- Eject the ribbon cassette and remove it.
- Turn the printer OFF.
- Open the transparent rear cover fully to access the tape roll compartment.
- Take a 3M (isopropyl alcohol) cleaning wipe from the package and unfold it.
- Reach into the printer and use the cleaning wipe to wipe the printhead from left to right several times.
Warning: Do not use sharp objects (e.g. a screwdriver or your fingernails). Only use your fingers/hands and the soft cleaning wipe. If you physically damage the printhead, the printhead warranty will be void.
