Tape and/or ribbon status is not visible

Is the material information missing in the SMS-R1 Print Manager, preventing you from seeing which tape and ribbon are loaded in the printer?

Printer is connected via the network. #

When the printer is connected via a LAN connection and the SMS-R1 Manager does not display any supply information, check the following:

  1. The PC is on the same network as the printer.
  2. Port 9101 is enabled.

 

Printer is connected via USB. #

When the printer is connected to your PC using a USB cable and the SMS-R1 Manager does not display any supply information, check the following:

  1. The USB cable is connected correctly.
  2. The latest printer driver and firmware are installed.
  3. On your PC, go to Printers & Scanners and remove the SMS-R1 printer. Then connect the printer to a different USB port.

 

User does not have sufficient permissions. #

Have you completed the steps above and are you still unable to see the material information? If so, you may not have sufficient permissions.

  1. On your PC, go to Printers & Scanners and select the SMS-R1.
  2. Now click Printer Properties and go to the Security tab.
  3. Ensure that the following permissions are allowed for the relevant user(s):
    Print
    Manage this printer
    Manage documents
  4. Click Apply to save the changes.
